“For two and a half centuries, our brave military fought, shed blood and gave their lives for our freedom. Now we will enjoy their magnificent parade – worthy of their service and victim,” the message said.
According to the AR, the parade will include concerts, fireworks, NFL players, fitness and demonstrations throughout the national alley for one-day festivities. The army expects to be present up to 200 thousand people, and that the organization of celebration will cost about $ 25–45 million.
More than 6.7 thousand military from bases throughout the country will take part in the parade. They will form units that will represent each of the main conflicts of the country, starting from the US Independence War. As a symbol of each military conflict, 60 participants in the parade will wear a uniform of that period, and 400 military from the same base in modern uniforms will follow them. The parade is reported that Colonel Ann McClain, an army astronaut, currently serving at the International Space Station, will take part in the parade.
At the end of the parade, the Golden Knights of the US Army parachute group will jump over the White House and land next to Trump to give it a folded flag, and 250 recruits or military personnel who are serving, will be brought to Trump to oath in the army.
It is known that 28 main combat tanks M1 Abrams, 28 caterpillar combat vehicles Bradley, 28 wheel vehicles Stryker, four M-109 Paladin and other towed artillery are being prepared for the parade. More than 50 helicopters and aircraft representing various wars are also planned. For example, when units in the form of the Second World War pass by Trump, it is expected that the P-51 Mustang fighter and B-25 Mitchell bomber will fly over it. As the units representing later conflicts will be held, army helicopters H-1 Huey, AH-1 Cobra, AH-64 Apache and CH-47 Chinook will appear in the sky.
According to Times, horses and two mules will also join the parade, which will pull the wagon with the dog, the Australian Hilery nicknamed Doc Hollide. The publication notes that Trump wanted to hold such a parade since in 2017 he joined the President of France Emmanuel Macron to see the procession through the Champs Elysees in honor of the day of the capture of the Bastille.
Officials are also preparing for protests: judging by the application for permission, the organizers expect that up to 20 thousand people will participate in the “national protest against Trump and the military machine, and additional rallies are planned on this day in Washington.
