“Her films, her voice, her dazzling fame, her initials, her pains, her generous passion for animals, her face that became Marianne – Brigitte Bardot embodied a life of freedom. A French existence, a universal brilliance. She touched us. We mourn a legend of the century“, wrote the French president, according to AFP, quoted by Agerpres.
The star's face was used as a model for an official bust of Marianne, an allegorical female figure symbolizing the values of the French Republic, which has been installed in town halls across the country since the late 1960s, Reuters reports.
