An earthquake with magnitude 6.3 occurred on Wednesday off the island of Crete in Greece, the German Geo research center (GFZ), quoted by Reuters, announced.
The earthquake took place at a depth of 83 km, GFZ said.
The inhabitants of Egypt also felt the earthquake, and the National Institute for Astronomy and Geophysical Research did not report victims or material damage. The Institute said he had a magnitude earthquake 6.4 to 431 km from the Nordic coasts of Egypt.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located about one hundred kilometers from the coasts of Crete and Santorini island, notes France Presse.

The region around the island of Santorini in the Aegean Sea, one of the most popular tourist destinations of Greece, has experienced a seismic activity out of January and February, thousands of earthquakes causing some of the inhabitants to leave their homes.
Located on several geological faults in the southeast of the Mediterranean, Greece is regularly hit by earthquakes.
The last deadly earthquake in the archipelago took place in October 2020 on the island of Samos, in the Aegean, between Greece and Turkey. The earthquake with a magnitude of 7 degrees killed two people in Samos and over 100 in the city of Turkish Izmir.
