Traian Basescu abolishes Simion's plan to dismiss 500,000 budgets: “It is impossible to do it”

Former President Traian Basescu criticized on Wednesday evening, in an intervention at B1TV, the proposal of the gold leader George Simion, to dismiss 500,000 budgets, cataloging it as unrealistic. Basescu claims that such a measure is impossible to implement, even within three years.

“To say that you kick 500,000 people or this kind, it's easy. It's impossible to do it,” said the former president. “You have no way to reduce 500,000 people even in 3 years.

Basescu explained that the reduction of personnel in the public sector should be done by natural retirement and by blocking the employment, not through massive dismissals.

“Here, the correct solution is not to give 500,000 people outside, but to reduce the state operating expenses, related to those who, beyond salaries, have undue increases. And the reduction of staff will be done by natural output. I had this experience, I did it and gave it. Employees, “said Basescu.

“From the point of view of realism, you can not reduce with 500,000 people even in 3 years. We have at the moment 1,306,000 budgets, of which 308,000 are in education. by the ministry and with the sanitary directions, and another 147,000 in the hospitals and dispensaries related to the mayors.

“To reduce 500,000 out of 282,000 officials in the local public administration you have no more than 200,000 in the other ministries. So it is not possible. 500,000 is unrealistic,” he added.

One night ago, the golden leader said he wants to cut the two -thirds of the public administration apparatus, if he wins the elections.

“It is a radical plan,” he said in an interview with Digi24, although he stressed that this will not happen “the next day”, but within five years.

Simion said that in the following period “some unfriendly measures will have to be taken that Marcel Ciolacu reminded only and all the governments of recent years have mentioned and they have not been done”.

“The situation is dramatic and it will be very difficult to avoid bankruptcy. And I prefer to understand everyone now that I am not Bau-Bau, that I have no bad intentions, the fact that some unfriendly measures will have to be taken,” said the gold leader.
