In Krasnoyarsk, the ex-director of a jewelry company was sent to a colony for embezzling jewelry worth 7.8 million rubles (video)

In Krasnoyarsk, a court found the former director of the jewelry company Russian Gems LLC guilty of misappropriating property entrusted to her on an especially large scale and punished her with actual imprisonment.

It was established that in 2016, the LLC entered into a commission agreement with another enterprise for the sale of jewelry worth more than 10 million rubles. The supplier fulfilled its part of the deal: it sent 239 diamond items to the jewelry company in three shipments. In exchange, Russian Gems agreed to report monthly sales and transfer proceeds.

In January 2017, the company changed its CEO and the chair was taken by an attacker. At first, under her leadership, things went according to plan: the company reported sales of more than 3 million rubles and transferred the money to the supplier. But then the company’s employees suddenly stopped communicating and ignored the counterparty’s claims.

“As it turned out, the company had been having financial problems since 2015. Demand for products dropped noticeably, there was nothing to give out loans and the bank had already initiated bankruptcy proceedings. During the same period, the new director came up with the idea of ​​“using” the remaining 170 decorations totaling 7.8 million rubles. The jewelry was entrusted to her by virtue of her position, and the woman disposed of it at her own discretion. And when the bankruptcy trustee of the company began to sell off the property, these 170 products were not there. The defendant herself denied her guilt and insisted that she had not done anything illegal: the business did not take off, the obligations were not fulfilled, but there was no crime here,” the prosecutor’s office said.

According to Part 4 of Art. 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the court sentenced the defendant to 2 years in a general regime colony.
