The leader and candidate for presidential gold, George Simion, said on Tuesday evening that he wants to reduce by 500,000 the number of budgets in the state institutions, ie the two -thirds of the public administration apparatus, if he wins the elections. “It is a radical plan,” he said in an interview with Digi24, although he stressed that this will not happen “the next day”, but within five years.
Simion said that in the following period “some unfriendly measures will have to be taken that Marcel Ciolacu reminded only and all the governments of recent years have mentioned and they have not been done”.
“The situation is dramatic and it will be very difficult to avoid bankruptcy. And I prefer to understand everyone now that I am not Bau-Bau, that I have no bad intentions, the fact that some unfriendly measures will have to be taken,” said the gold leader.
“For example, an efficiency of the administrative apparatus. We are in the Senate of Romania, here we have heard protests from the employees, different things. They are employed here, in the Senate, at the commissions we run, but not employed by us, but they were in the Senate structure, which are disturbed when they are asked for an activity report.
He claimed that from the budget system he should leave “party members, because we are not talking about teachers, we are not talking about medical staff, we have a deficit to firefighters, to the police, to the military”.
Simion advanced the number of 500,000 budgets who should leave the system.
Other details of Simion on the issue of reducing the number of state employees:
- “We are talking about the fact that in the early 2000s there were 800,000 employees in the state sector and now there are 1,300,000.
- We should get back to 800,000 because in these 25 new years we benefit from technology, digitization and we can take advantage of technical progress.
- But I want to not alarm someone by saying that this will happen the next day. During five years, we have a government program that provides for the two -thirds reduction of local and central institutions. It's a radical plan.“
The golden leader also stated that he opposes VAT growth.
“I will definitely advocate for reducing labor tax at the minimum wage level. At this moment, the Romanians, to 42%, pay the most on the taxation of work from all 27 states of the European Union. I think we have to broaden the tax base,” he added.
“I know what happened, for example in the construction and agriculture sector, which theoretically benefited from some tax facilities. So many salaries that started to go white, so to speak, because they allowed their employers to pay them.
