Accept Association denounces a new attempt to intimidate to the LGBT community, after an attempt to force the headquarters at 5 in the morning

A person has tried to enter the headquarters of the Accept Association, an organization that aims to promote the rights of the LGBT community. When the person noticed the cameras, hit the intercom and left, writes News.ro. The association emphasizes that the authorities must “intervene firmly when acts of intimidation and offenses motivated by hatred appear.”

“Today, at five o'clock in the morning, a person tried to enter the Accept headquarters. He crossed the street, called the intercom, and when he realized that the area was filmed, hit the intercom and left. It is not an isolated incident. It is not accidental. In 2018, during the referendum for redefining the family, and in 2020, when I was in Parliament. Complaints to the authorities, but the authors have not been identified until today ”, the representatives of the organization said.

According to the Accept Association, the authorities have been notified, and the instigator speech must be sanctioned.

At the same time, to use the subject of the LGBTI community in the political struggles “is not just lower – it is dangerous”, say the representatives of the organization.

“We have informed the competent authorities again. But it is not enough. It is the responsibility of the authorities to intervene firmly when acts of intimidation and offenses motivated by hatred. To investigate them. To prevent them. To sanction the instigator speech and those who propagate it. It is the responsibility of the political class to not transform the minority groups into the community or the scope. You are not just a weapon in the political struggle – we have been here.
