Brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate, investigated in Romania for trafficking in people and rape

The influence of Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate – former Kickboxeri, with double citizenship, American and British – were sued by prosecutors DIICOT, in the summer of 2023, for trafficking in people, rape and grouping organized to sexually exploit women. According to prosecutors, the two are accused of setting up an organized criminal group for committing on the territory of Romania, but also of other states, such as the United States and the United Kingdom, the crime of trafficking in persons.

But at the end of last year, the Tate brothers escaped the trial in which they were tried in our country, after the Bucharest Court of Appeal decided to return their file to DIICOT, to restore the investigation from scratch. At the same time, they were released from house arrest.

Currently, against the two brothers accused of rape and trafficking in persons, the prosecutors have ordered the measure of judicial control, but without the prohibition to leave Romania.

In August last year, prosecutors announced that they started a second criminal investigation against the Tate brothers and four other suspects, on the charge of setting up an organized criminal group, trafficking in minors, sexual relations with a minor and money laundering.

The UK also requests the extradition of the father's brothers after the Bedfordshire police obtained an arrest warrant in an investigation into rape and trafficking. A court in Romania decided last year that they can be extradited after there will be a final decision in the case of our country.
