A 42-year-old Krasnoyarsk resident will stand trial for drunken driving of a dump truck. The regional prosecutor's office spoke about this.
It all happened in September 2025 in the city of Ilansky. According to the supervisory authority, the driver of a 19-ton Shacman dump truck, previously convicted of murder and fined for drunk driving, decided to celebrate the end of his shift by drinking alcohol in his company car.
In a drunken state, the man decided to take another ride in the truck and drove into the city. There he damaged power line wires and drove into oncoming traffic, where he collided head-on with a car.

“The impact was terrible, but what’s even worse is that the driver of the dump truck didn’t even notice that he had dragged the mangled passenger car on the hood of his truck for almost 200 meters. Only when both cars slid into a ditch did this nightmare stop,” the prosecutor’s office said.
By luck, the driver of the damaged car managed to jump out of his car in the first seconds after the accident. This desperate step saved his life.
The prosecutor charged the driver of the dump truck with violating traffic rules by a person subject to administrative punishment (Part 1 of Article 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Now he faces a real prison sentence.
In addition to criminal liability, the man will appear in civil court and will pay compensation for material damage caused as a result of a drunken drive.
