The independent candidate for the presidential elections Victor Ponta said on Thursday night, in a live broadcast on social networks, that he never met in private with Nicușor Dan and that he had no meeting with Florian Coldea in recent years. The reaction comes after Elena Lasconi has published photos of which she suggests show the three. The former prime minister made the statements with his hand on the Bible.

  • For his part, Nicușor Dan convened a press conference and denied that he met Victor Ponta or Florian Coldea. Asked by Hotnews what he thinks about Florian Coldea's mandate in SRI, even if he did not meet him, Nicușor Dan characterized him as “harmful to society”. Here are his arguments.

“The system is more and more desperate. This evening, Antena 3, at the order of Dan Voiculescu, for Crin Antonescu, used Elena Lasconi, the useful idiot of the system, with a fake news: that I saw Nicușor Dan and Florian Coldea,” said Victor Ponta, in his reaction on Thursday evening.

“I have in front of the Bible, I am faithful and I want to swear by the Bible: I have never met Nicușor Dan on any private occasion. Except for the TVR debate on Tuesday,” he added, the live on the online environment.

“Tomorrow morning I will file a criminal complaint against Elena Lasconi and against Antena 3 for this fake news and you will need to go to the floor and admit that you have produced a fake news,” Ponta said.

About Florian Coldea, Ponta said: “I did not see with Florian Coldea, neither in 2025, nor in 2024, nor in 2023. I saw with Florian Coldea when I was prime minister, and he-deputy director.”

Ponta claimed that some of the photos published would be from 2018, according to some checks, but stressed that in that year he did not meet the mentioned persons.

Previously, Ponta Anuță had filed criminal complaints against Elena Lasconi and the television station Antena 3, claiming that the “fake news” was propagated by Antena 3, in Mihai Gâdea's show

“And because Fake The News threw it out where at Antena 3, at Mihai Gâdea. I want to tell you with your hand on the Bible, Mihai Gâdea, you are a faithful man. On June 10, 2015, the last time I was at the SRI headquarters, on the Gendarmerie Street, you, Mihai Gâdea, I met you. Hellvig, ”Ponta said in the statement on social networks.

He also announced that he will notify the National Audiovisual Council: “Tomorrow morning I will complain to the CNA, because Antena 3 did not call me.”

Ponta also criticized Elena Lasconi, who said she was acting “on the order” and would attack Nicușor Dan from revenge: “This is not how Crin Antonescu can arrive in the round. Not so, Elena Lasconi, you avenge Nicușor Dan. You have to be brave.”

“Elena Lasconi, and you are faithful. Why do you commit these bastards? Your hatred of Nicușor Dan is a sin. To accuse someone you don't even know about something you know is false, false, Elena Lasconi,” Ponta said.

Elena Lasconi distributed on Thursday evening, on Facebook, several photos that suggest that she shows the mayor of the capital, Nicușor Dan, the former first deputy of the SRI, Florian Coldea, and the former prime minister Victor Ponta.

Nicuşor Dan and people who resemble Victor Ponta and Florian Coldea, but in separate images. They seem to leave the same building.

On Thursday, in an interview with Europa FM, Elena Lasconi said she received the photos by e-mail. The candidate for the presidency said that the pictures also appears the former prime minister Victor Ponta, suggesting that the meeting could have been related to a political agreement regarding the candidacy of Nicușor Dan.

“And Mr. Ponta. I think it was the arrangement for the candidacy,” said Elena Lasconi.
