A new general manager at Elcen, after Claudiu Crețu arrived in the DNA viewfinder

ELCEN's Board of Directors met urgently and decided to change the company's management, after the DNA was placed under judicial control on the general director Claudiu Crețu and the commercial director Cristian Zamfiroi. The new general manager is Mihai Volf, ELCEN's legal director and procurement, the company announced in a press release. He will be interim general manager.
Mihai Volf has been working in the company for over 37 years. According to Elcen, he is responsible for the legal management and the operational conformity of the company.
“The activity of the company is not affected and operates in normal parameters, and the public service for the supply of thermal energy to the inhabitants of the capital continues without interruptions,” says ELCEN.
We remind that the general director of Elcen Bucharest, Claudiu Crețu, and the commercial director Cristian Zamfiroi were placed under judicial control, being investigated by DNA for bribery. Claudiu Crețu, prosecutors accuse him of asking for bribes over one and a half million euros.
- DNA prosecutors say that, on July 1, 2025, the general director of Elcen, Claudiu Crețu, received through the commercial director, Cristian Zamfiroi, in the office of a company in Bucharest, the amount of 40,000 lei from its representative, for the urgency of approving some payment operations related to the invoices issued by the respective company.
- Also, Crețu is accused of DNA that, on July 10, 2025, he asked for bribes, through Zamfiroi, from the administrator of a company, the sum of 1,565,000 euros, in connection with the sale-purchase of that company.
The two have generous incomes, of tens of thousands of lei a month, according to the latest wealth statements.
