Crin Antonescu, the candidate supported by the PSD, PNL and UDMR in the presidential elections, announced on Wednesday that he has asked the National Council for the Study of Security Archives (CNSAS) to offer all the documents in his file related to the former Security.
Antonescu claims that he will “make public, as is natural.”
“Following yesterday's attack, I submitted the request to CNSAS today to receive all the documents in my file related to the former Security. My request was registered with CNSAS with no. The statement comes in the context in which CNSAS issued a certificate attesting that Antonescu was not a collaborator or informant of the Security, but recorded in the document that the former PNL leader gave, in 1988, a statement about a colleague from the Niculițel School, Tulcea County, which he signed with his name, not with a conspiracy name.
“I was never, in any form, a security collaborator and I did not make a political police. I had no connection with the Security except the quality to be pursued,” was the reaction of Crin Antonescu, on Tuesday, in a press conference held after the CNSAS announcement.
He claims that in 1987, when he was in Tulcea, a “very good friend” of his departed in Bulgaria and tried to leave there in Austria, but was caught by the Bulgarian authorities and was brought back to Romania.
“When leaving, he left a few personal objects for three friends or four very close, all three, because he had left them with names and label the respective objects, we were called to follow the security to give statements in relation to this. Bulgaria, that I did not know what intentions it has, what was, in fact, true and so much more ”, added Crin Antonescu.
Ștefan Costache, the man for whom Crin Antonescu was summoned to Security, told Antena 3 that he puts the “hand in the fire” for him.
“If Crin had betrayed me, I couldn't have run out of the country.
