Isaacman is a commercial astronaut and billionaire, as well as the general director of the SHIFT4 company dealing with payment processing. He has long been in close relationships with Elon Musk, who resigned this week from the position of senior adviser to President Donald Trump and the head of the Government Efficiency Department (DOGE). It is not yet clear what are the reasons for this personnel change.
The Semaphore portal was the first to inform about these plans, citing an anonymous White House official.
Senate Democrats for months criticized Isaacman's relations with Musk, taking into account close connections with the White House of the latter, as well as the role of the general director of SpaceX, one of NASA's largest contractors.
In March, “The Wall Street Journal” announced that Musk personally asked Isaacman to manage the agencywhich democratic politicians emphasized during the audition of the candidate last month.
