Tired of the modest harvest of tomatoes, despite watering and top dressing? A light tapping with a stick on the bushes is created with tomatoes of miracles. It sounds wild, but this is not a joke, an agrarian life hack that really works, especially in the heat.
The idea to beat tomato bushes with a stick sounds like a garden joke, but behind it is science. In the heat for 30 degrees pollen, tomatoes are losing activity, and in greenhouses without wind it simply does not reach the goal. Without good pollination, the fruits will be not enough. Light tapping on the stems solve the problem: pollen spilled out of the flowers and pollination goes as it should.
Select a light stick, like a bamboo cane or thin branch, so as not to break the stems. Knock carefully – 2 – 3 light tapping along the stem or near the flowers on each bush. No blows from a grand scale! Do this in the morning when the dew has dried up, but the heat has not yet covered. If there are few bushes, you can shake them with your hands or go through the flowers with a soft brush like a bee.
With regular tapping, the number of fruits grows significantly. The bushes give more large tomatoes, it is better to endure the heat, and the fruiting lasts longer.
