I dissolve 100 g in water – the tomatoes are sweet and strong: I collect them in buckets until late autumn

Everyone who grows tomatoes on their plot wants to get a rich harvest: so that the branches are literally bursting with strong, sugary and juicy fruits. But without good care and a balanced diet, it is difficult to count on such a result.

There are several fertilizers that allow you to harvest tomatoes in buckets from July until late autumn. In this case, the fruits are smooth, without fines and empty flowers.

Yeast feeding

Yeast develops roots well, helps grow green mass and promotes flowering.

100 g of raw yeast (or 10 g of dry) are diluted in 3 liters of warm water, add 2 tablespoons of sugar, stir and keep warm for a couple of hours. Then this infusion is diluted in 10 liters of water and half a liter is poured under each bush.

When to use: a week after transplanting into the ground or greenhouse, as well as at the beginning of flowering.

Ash infusion

Ash makes fruits tastier, improves plant immunity and protects against diseases. One glass of wood ash is poured with 5 liters of hot water and left for 24 hours. Before watering, dilute with water 1 to 2. Apply during the flowering phase and during fruit filling, with an interval of 10 days.

Mullein infusion

1 liter of fresh mullein is diluted in 10 liters of water and infused for 3-5 days. Before watering, 1 liter of infusion is mixed with 10 liters of water. Apply 14 days after planting, then every two weeks until the end of August.

Herbal infusion

Healthy nutrition in June and July, when plants are actively growing and forming a harvest. The bucket is filled with fresh grass (nettle, dandelion, plantain, wood lice), filled with water, and a glass of ash is added. Leave for 5-7 days for fermentation. Before watering, dilute 1 to 10 and pour a liter under the bush.

When to use: from the beginning of active growth until mid-August.

Boric acid

Helps with flowering and ovary formation, and also makes tomatoes sweeter and richer in taste. 1 g of boric acid is dissolved in 1 liter of hot water, cooled, and water is added to 10 liters. Spray the bushes leaf by leaf at the beginning and middle of flowering.

Apply during the period of mass flowering and again after 10 days.

How to alternate these feedings:

  • a week after planting: yeast;
  • after another 7 days: mullein;
  • at the beginning of flowering: ash infusion + boric acid on the leaf;
  • another week later: herbal infusion;
  • then every 10 days alternate ash and herbal infusion, sometimes adding boron.

“This kind of care allows me to collect a bucket or two of ripe tomatoes every 2-3 days from mid-July until late autumn, even in a not very successful summer,” shares the author of the blog “Let’s Chew | Recipes” (12+).
