Donald Trump will not appear at his son's wedding. This is how he explains the decision

In a message published on the Truth Social platform, the leader of the United States explained that Although he wanted to participate in the ceremony, the government work situation prevents him from going. Donald Trump Jr. is to marry former model Bettina Anderson, and the ceremony will take place in the Bahamas.

“While I would love to be with my son, Don Jr., and the newest member of the Trump family, his future wife, Bettina, government circumstances and my love for the United States of America do not allow me to do so,” the president wrote on his Truth Social website. “I believe it is important for me to remain in Washington, in the White House, during this important time. Congratulations to Don and Bettina!” – he added.

The issue of Iran in the president's plans

A day earlier, the American leader had already made it clear that his presence at the ceremony was questionable. The reasons included the tense situation regarding Iran and other current state matters.

— He (Donald Jr.) would like me to go (…) And I will try to do it. I'm in the middle of… you know, it's not good timing for me. “I have something like Iran and other issues,” he said. He added that whatever he did, he would be “killed” by the press.

However, Friday's entry did not contain any references to specific war matters or other events that would require him to remain in the capital. The schedule previously released by the White House showed that Trump was to spend the weekend at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey. There were no public appearances planned there, but on Friday, the trip to New Jersey was removed from the calendar.

Another marriage of the president's son

This will be Donald Jr.'s second wedding. He has five children with his first wife, Vanessa, and the marriage ended in divorce in 2018, during his father's first term in the White House.

After the breakup, the president's son became involved with Kimberly Guilfoyle, previously the wife of California Governor Gavin Newsom of the Democratic Party. Guilfoyle went on to become involved in Trump's election campaign and currently represents the United States as ambassador to Greece.
