“I have a friend who I think you'd enjoy going out to dinner with.” The message was sent by Jeffrey Epstein to Britain's Prince Andrew in 2010. In a later email, Epstein stated that “girlfriend” she was 26 years old, Russian, intelligent, beautiful and reliable, writes The New York Times.

The prince replied that he would “delighted” to meet her. A few hours later, he wrote to Epstein again: “What did you tell him about me, did you also give him my email address?”

The exchange of messages, which are among three million files related to the Epstein investigation released by the United States Department of Justice on Friday, add new details to what was publicly known about the long friendship between Epstein, a convicted sex offender, and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

In October, the prince lost his royal titles after further revelations revealed how close his relationship with Epstein was. Around 2001, Epstein allegedly trafficked a teenage girl to Prince Andrew, who allegedly had sex with her several times, according to court documents later filed by the woman, Virginia Roberts Giuffre.

Mountbatten-Windsor has repeatedly denied the allegations made by Giuffre and any wrongdoing in relation to his friendship with Epstein. The new emails between the two were written about a decade later.

Epstein had saved the prince in his contact book under the name “The Duke”.

The duke signed his answers:HRH The Duke of York KG” short for “His Royal Highness” and Knight of the Garter.

Mountbatten-Windsor also appears in other emails related to the Epstein investigation released by Congress in December. In those messages, a sender identified as “A,” who said he was at a British royal residence, wrote to Epstein's accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell:

“Have you found me some new inappropriate friends?”

The former prince's office did not respond to requests for comment on the new emails or those released in December.

Epstein sent money to the husband of the former British ambassador to the US

Other emails show that Epstein sent $13,692 to Lord Peter Mandelson's husband, Reinaldo Avila da Silva, in 2009, writes the BBC.

In an email to Epstein, da Silva outlines the costs of an osteopathy course, gives his bank details and thanks the funder for “anything can help me”.

Epstein responds a few hours later saying he will transfer the loan amount, and da Silva, who married Mandelson in 2023, thanks him the next day.

In another series of emails, Lord Mandelson requests to stay at one of Epstein's properties.

The emails are from June 16, 2009, when Epstein was serving a prison sentence. For much of his sentence, Epstein was allowed to work from his office during the day and return to prison each evening.

In December 2024, Lord Mandelson was appointed UK ambassador to the US, but was sacked less than a year later when it emerged he had sent messages of support to Epstein following his conviction.

Lord Mandelson has repeatedly said he regrets his long-publicised former friendship with Epstein. He said he never saw any wrongdoing while with Epstein and “he fell prey to his lies.”

Trump was mentioned hundreds of times

The US president is mentioned hundreds of times in the recently released files. Trump had a friendship with Epstein, but he says it soured years ago and has denied any knowledge of his sex crimes.

Among the new documents is a list compiled by the FBI last year of allegations made against Trump by those who called the National Threat Operations Center hotline. Many of these appear to be based on unverified information received by the agency and were made without supporting evidence.

The list includes numerous allegations of sexual abuse made against Trump, Epstein and other prominent figures.

Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein and has not been accused of any wrongdoing by Epstein's victims.
