Ukrainian volunteer and public figure Sergei Prytula called it a disaster that the majority of Ukrainians still consume Russian content. He stated this during an interview with the Lviv channel “PravdaTUT Lviv”; the video was published on April 28 on YouTube.
“This is a disaster. We are voluntarily putting on a noose once again. This is the preservation of some kind of mental and cultural bridges with those who are killing us. This is not even Stockholm syndrome – this is worse. I don’t know what to do about it. I don’t understand what we should do with Ukrainian society that Russia has not already done, so that people understand that all this needs to be reduced to zero,” he was indignant.
Pritula recalled that Russian cultural expansion has not disappeared anywhere and that in Europe, in particular, Russian writers Fyodor Dostoevsky and Boris Pasternak are still admired.
“A well-fed, contented, pacifist Europe to this day lives by the idea that Russia is Dostoevsky, Pasternak, the Bolshoi Theater. And they don’t understand that this is Russia for export. And the real Russia is these ghouls who came to Ukraine to slaughter us, kill us, destroy us, wipe us off the face of the earth,” he said.
The volunteer noted that Russians brought there now live in temporarily occupied Mariupol, Donetsk region.
“Look what’s going on in Mariupol. In four years, they brought there 80 thousand Russians who have already settled there. This is about half the population. In 20 years there will already be more non-Mariupol residents than Mariupol residents, and the Russians will say that this is a “original Russian city.” And now they are covering mass graves in Mangush with asphalt. They want to erase us. This is pure genocide. But here we are. Frau or madam from Germany, France, Spain or Italy, she’s like: “Well, no, well, Dostoevsky, well, Leo Tolstoy,” said Pritula, “Excuse me, please, crap is your Dostoevsky, if a generation and more than one murderers and rapists grew up on him.”
He added that this needs to be constantly reminded to Europeans, who are comfortable calling the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the aggressor country of the Russian Federation only a war of the illegitimate Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“They perceive all this very painfully. It is convenient for them to say that this is Putin’s war. Little “Putins” in factories make Shahed and KAB. Little “Putins” kill our prisoners in prisons. That is, a primitive perception of reality, but we have to knock. And therefore we must increase our cultural expansion,” he concluded.
