US authorities are preparing to deport a group of Ukrainians

The Ukrainian ambassador to the US, Olha Stefaniszyna, informed that the embassy knows about approx. 80 Ukrainians, who received a final deportation order for violating US law.
She emphasized that American authorities are working on the logistics of deportation, given the lack of direct air connections with Ukraine. — The US can deport as many as it wants, said an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who spoke on condition of anonymity. — We will find a good job for them – he added.
Due to the ongoing Russian invasion the number of deportations to Ukraine has decreased. If 80 people are deported, it will be the largest group in recent years. According to data from the migration service, 53 Ukrainians were deported in fiscal year 2024. The daily emphasized that Ukrainians will be sent back to the country because the US administration is trying to increase the scale of deportations and Kiev wants to strengthen relations with Washington.
