The two-word message of Péter Magyar after the results that suggest his victory in the Hungarian elections

Politician Péter Magyar's Tisza party is leading by a margin over Viktor Orbán's Fidesz group after more than 30% of votes were counted in Hungary's election.

“Thank you, Hungary!” opposition leader Peter Magyar wrote on Facebook late Sunday.

His message came after the emergence of partial official results that appear to confirm the victory of his party, after 16 years of rule by Viktor Orbán.

The projection after processing more than 37% of the votes shows that Tisza will have 132 seats out of 199. Fidesz would collect 59 seats.

Earlier, he was optimistic about the outcome of the elections.

“Hungarians have made history again,” said Peter Magyar in his speech after the polls closed.

“The attendance shows that more than six million Hungarians voted (…) The vast majority of Hungarians felt how important these elections are,” said leader Tisza, adding that “this is a celebration of democracy.

Peter Magyar avoided commenting on his party's score, saying only that he is optimistic about the official results that will come in the coming hours.
