Azerbaijan's state energy company, SOCAR, announced on Friday that it has started delivering natural gas to Austria and Germany.

The company did not specify what quantities it is about, although previously information appeared in the press according to which Germany could receive over 1 billion cubic meters of gas, writes Rador Radio Romania.

SOCAR sells significant volumes of gas on the markets of Central and Southern Europe, through the gas pipeline that crosses the Adriatic Sea (TAP – Trans Adriatic Pipeline).

Azerbaijan started supplying gas to Europe in December 2020, and its customers include Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Serbia.

Last year, SOCAR exported 25 billion cubic meters of gas, of which 13 billion to European countries.
