The revolt of a tourist who paid 50 lei on the peanuts, a horn and a juice: “How to go on the coast at such prices?”

A tourist arrived on the Romanian coast on May 1 has sparked a heated debate on social networks after publishing a photo with the tax receipt from a hut in Constanța: 23 lei for a small bag and 18 lei for a bottle of juice.

Many Romanians have complained over time the high prices of shopping on the coast. One of them decided to show on the social networks the shopping voucher, dissatisfied after buying a juice, peanuts and a horn.
“Give God forgive me! So prices? How to go to the coast with such prices? I exaggerate? I do not consider myself the poorest man, but I am not rich. But even if I were … it would seem enormous,” he wrote on Reddit.
Boutics in resorts have high prices
Some tourists have ironized him and told him that for many years it is known that boutiques and neighborhood stores in resorts have exaggerated prices.

The bonus of the client dissatisfied
“I remember that by 2018, in Costinești, I gave 10 lei on a dose of Cola. Yes, a simple dose, which costs 2-3 lei at that time. Why did you not supply from a supermarket? a Romanian tells him.
Another tourist remembered that, besides the high prices of shopping, he waited for nothing to receive the rest from those who sold juices on the beach.
“With alcohol, snacks and living juices at home! You are nice to get a buzz with everything you drink and walk with it after you. You do not buy from the beach unless you are too broken.”transmits another Romanian.
As long as it is bought, the prices are suitable, another Romanian believes. Another tourist says that the shops near the beach or those in the known areas are classic “spikes” for tourists.
“If you want to shop, you go to the big supermarkets-you have nothing to do in those neighborhood stores. Another variant is to leave home with supplies in the trunk. There is no shame for a water bait, some juices and a few foods, at least for the first day, if you do not go, Take some essential things with you, do not have to venture into the coast's commercial jungles on the first evening ”, he recommends it.
The neighborhood boutiques in the resorts have always had astronomical prices, says someone else. The season is short, and the bishops try to get the pig on the eve.
“They are all on the coast. The traders there, in one summer, want to get the river for three winters!”he adds.
On the Black Sea shore with home pack
The increasing prices were observed by other Romanians on vacation on the Black Sea. One of them recommends that they do not forget his refrigerated box at home and to fill his luggage with food, as his parents did.
“In the past, you had money, but you couldn't find anything to buy … At least that was in Bucharest. Now, you stay in a kitchen apartment, you shop from the big supermarkets (which also exist on the coast), you fill your fridge and food cabinets at the same prices as at home. The lack of a constant flow of customers, the food can be old or held at inappropriate temperatures.is the advice given by another Romanian to those who seek fun on the coast.
Mamaia, like Saint Tropez
The Romanian coast loses tourists in front of the resorts in Bulgaria, due to exaggerated prices, believes another Romanian.
It considers the beaches a bit boring, with many places where the water is too small, and as beauty they are out of the beaches of Burgas, Varna and Sozopol in Bulgaria.
“Constanța is an interesting city, with a valuable heritage, but its most beautiful part has been left in comparison for decades. Other places, such as Ţăndărei (the village between Constanța and Mamaia), are not sufficiently valued. The coast is short, crowded, and its” pearl “-Mamaia-has prices of Saint-Totr.”he believes.

Another tourist says that, in recent years, he has preferred to spend his days off in Bulgaria, where prices are slightly lower.
“In 2020 I went to a few poor” pushing “on the coast and I found that I was more expensive with a portion of neck and the cheapest potatoes than in Greece or Italy, where we ate fresh fish, on the seafront. If I want the Black Sea, I have the Bulgaria version at any time. And if I want a really beautiful sea, I have many other countries, about the same price as a holiday in Mamaia ”, he says.
And other Romanians boast the pleasant experiences on the foreign beaches. “Too many Romanians have this mental blocking that they” have to “go to sea. On the coast, the food and drink costs you as if you were staying at a 5 -star hotel, ”adds another.
Another Romanian recommends tourists to look for more civilized destinations, outside the country, where even with 10 euros can eat at restaurants.
“I was near Naples (not on the Amalfi Coast), and these were, largely, the prices: around 10 euros for a dish, including seafood, and pizza costs between 5 and 7 euros”, add it.
High -priced resorts, accessible and developed
Many Romanians, however, prefer the Romanian resorts, which they consider accessible, at least about the time spent on the road.

“I am tired of waiting for queues through airports, with aberrant prices for food and water (mention: the bath water is not drinkable!), With losses, delays, lost connections, screaming children, drunkards who do not know their limits. For me, the trip with the plane became a test, I do not go, Take with us how many luggage we want ”, he says.
According to another Romanian, the Romanian coast has weak services, poor infrastructure and higher prices than anywhere in the region. Foreigners come once, take a look, compare with other places and do not return. So do the Romanians. But the Bulgarian coast is not very different, he believes a Bulgarian.
“We all know that tourists who go to the Black Sea, both in Bulgaria and in Romania, are usually those who do not have time or money to reach Greece,” jokes the Bulgarian
Others claim that they see the Romanian resorts, especially Mamaia, more developed than those in Bulgaria, even if the prices are slightly higher in Romania.
“The Romanian resorts from the Black Sea are significantly more popular than the Bulgarian ones. If you want true urban life on the sea, the only places where you can find this in the east of Italy (and also in Europe) are Greece and Romania. Mamaia, for example, is more expensive than any place on the Bulgarian coast, Many transport options. support a Romanian.
