The National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management issued on Friday, May 30, 2025, a new hydrological warning. I break in Covasna
The Inspectorate for Emergency Situations Covasna communicated, a little ago, that it was decided to make a breach on the right bank of the Valea Mare stream, at 200 upstream from the Covasna stream.

During the night, in the localities Boroșneu Mare, Băcel, Chichiș, localities affected by floods, there was no need to evacuate people, the firefighters said.
It intervenes with medium and large capacity motor pumps to remove water from flooded areas. “The water level on the Zagon stream and the Black River is slightly decreasing and stationary in certain areas. The level of the Târlung river is slightly growing and in its area it has started to rain. During today (n. Red. – Friday, May 30) the forces and means of intervention will be supplemented with staff and high -capacity motor pumps within ISU Vrancea and ISU Buzău. Also, during today, the other units that have dislocated forces and means in the area of competence of the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations “Mihai Viteazul” of Covasna county, will order the necessary measures for rotating their own personnel “they also communicated to the Covasneni firefighters during the morning.
During Thursday they were affected, according to ISU Covasna, 120 buildings in Boroșneu Mare. In the town of Băcel, there was intervened to strengthen the dam at the weaknesses from Garofina bridge until the entrance to Băcel. Over 120 frames among ISU, MApN, Gendarmerie and Police were dislocated in the area.

In the town of Chichiș, to raise the dam on the Black River and to avoid flooding the households in the risk area, 46 ISU, MApN, police and volunteers intervened.
The mayor of Dobâlău, also from Covasna county, thanked the volunteers who mobilized to raise dams from bags of Nissipi, thus managing to avoid huge damages, the mayor says.
