Ants and aphids almost always appear together. Ants carry aphids to plants and protect them, so the fight begins with them. If you block their access, the problem is reduced significantly.
First life hack – dry ant barrier. Ash or a mixture of ash and sand is poured around the beds or stems. It is difficult for ants to move on such a surface, and they move to other areas. Important: the barrier must remain dry, so it is renewed after watering. The method does not destroy the anthill, but noticeably reduces their activity and protects the plantings.
Second way – soap solution against aphids. This is one of the most proven methods. Laundry or green soap (20–30 g per liter of water) helps wash away pests and breaks their protective layer. It is necessary to process carefully, especially on the underside of the leaves, repeating every 4–5 days.
Third life hack – garlic or onion infusion. Such solutions repel aphids and make plants less attractive to the pest. They are used as an addition to basic treatments.
The best results are obtained by a combination of methods: first limit the ants, then regularly treat the plants. With a systematic approach, aphids do not have time to gain a foothold, and the plants remain strong and produce a stable harvest throughout the season.
