Two CFR Săgeata Albastra trains, interconnected, which left on Monday from the North Station to Otopeni Airport, remained motionless in the field for more than 90 minutes, according to the reports of the passengers.

The trains left at 17:10, and at 19:15 they were still blocked, without CFR representatives offering a solution, which caused anger among passengers, many risking missing their scheduled flights.

“It's a joke, it's already been 90 minutes and there doesn't seem to be a solution. We've only been told that one of the trains has lost power so the second, interconnected one, can't run either. There are over 100 passengers on both trains, but we've been told they're not allowed to move people from one train to another, so we've all been standing still for more than 90 minutes.” said one of the travelers, quoted by G4Media.

According to the witness, several attempts were made to restart the trains, but without success.

“Everybody's outraged because we're losing planes,” he also said, specifying that, while they were stuck in the field, another train passed to the airport and returned, which amplified the frustration of the passengers in the two sets.

Until this moment, CFR has not offered an official point of view on the cause of the blockage or the estimated time until traffic resumes.
