The mayor of Krasnoyarsk allowed the construction of a municipal crematorium if the investor does not speed up (video)

At a meeting with residents of the Sverdlovsk region, the head of Krasnoyarsk Sergei Vereshchagin spoke about the fate of the crematorium.
Urbanists from the “Friends of Krasnoyarsk” community asked why the facility had not yet been built, and suggested announcing a concession in order to find another interested investor.
In response, the head of the city recalled that the construction permit was issued back in March 2024. The investor managed to make a pile field, which was reported to the City Council by former mayor Vladislav Loginov, but then the work stopped.
Mayor of Krasnoyarsk Vereshchagin about the crematorium
Two weeks ago the contractor became active again. Vereshchagin promised to personally monitor the situation in the next few months. If there is no progress, the city is ready to take matters into its own hands.
“I don’t understand why this facility is so difficult to build a crematorium. You don't even need a concession. Let's make it municipal. I think both my colleagues and the deputy corps will support me, because this is an absolutely correct, civilized idea for a millionaire,” said the mayor.
Let us remind you that Krasnoyarsk Crematorium LLC became the winner of the vote to select the best crematorium project in 2019. The company first applied for a construction permit in 2020, but then some comments arose regarding the documentation. However, even after obtaining the necessary permits, construction is not progressing.
