The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” (12+) wrote that the Amur-Tungussky region was annexed to Birobidzhan.
“The Presidium of the Birobidzhan rik heard a report from the Amur-Tungussky native rik. The area of the Amur-Tungussky region is equal to the area of the entire Birobidzhan. Meanwhile, the population in the region is only 504 people, of which Tungus – 239, Golds – 273, Udekhians – 20, Yakuts – 42, Chinese and Russians – 14 people. The main occupation of the population is hunting. In the northern part of the region, part of the population is engaged in reindeer husbandry… The resolution of the Biro-Bidzhan regional executive committee, according to the report of the Amur-Tunguska village, best reflects Lenin’s national policy. It was decided to allocate 4 thousand rubles for the construction of a building for the native village, to allocate funds for the construction of a school with a boarding school in the village of Elda, and to open a hospital in Kukan. 10 beds, and in the village of Elda there is a medical center. The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” wrote about the situation on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. The newspaper gave an example of an open letter from workers of the ski workshop of the Detal factory and the factory named after. Dimitrova:
“Every day the blows of our valiant Red Army, which is clearing Soviet cities and villages from the bloody fascist occupiers, are growing and strengthening. Inspired by its successes, the Soviet people respond to the heroic deeds of their glorious warriors with an ever-increasing labor enthusiasm. We also want to be worthy of the soldiers of the Active Army. We have been entrusted with a large and responsible job – making skis. At the front in the winter, they play a large and important role, They help fighters quickly move across any terrain, conduct reconnaissance, and often save their lives. For a long time, we mastered the production of skis, selected the necessary material and specialists. Now we have already started mass production of skis and have achieved the daily quota… The military situation requires us to double, triple the pace of work. That’s why the workshop workers decided to achieve the plan by at least 150%, producing 120 pairs of skis daily.”

“Birobidzhan Star” wrote on its pages about innovators. Turner L. M. Podruks is one of the many innovators of the textile and clothing factory. L. Podroux often had to repair the gearbox of carding machines, on which the bosses in which the roller is attached often broke off, and he thought “if the roller is lengthened and both ends are secured, the bending moment during rotation will disappear, and the boss will not break. And so it happened. Now, during medium and major repairs, this option is made in all carding machines – and the issue of bosses is removed from the agenda… The same L. Podroux, together with pommaster A. Potkin, changed the design of the pulleys of the removable drum of the carding machine. Previously, the drum was attached using a key and in During operation, it was ground down, and now the drum is clamped tightly with a bushing, the parts have become more durable… In the current, decisive year of the Five-Year Plan, the rationalization movement at the factory has received a new scope.”
