Who did she pay compensation to?
Few people know that Tina Karol was the second wife of her husband and producer Evgeniy Ogir, who died in 2013. After his death, according to the singer, Ogir’s first wife put forward a number of conditions to her. Tina Karol told her friend and Ukrainian presenter Katya Osadchaya in 2014 about the details of the conversation with her husband’s first wife. The video was published on YouTube on the channel page “1+1”.
“When you and I talked in Odessa during your concert, you said that immediately after the death of your husband Evgeniy, on the third day, relatives appeared – an ex-wife who began to lay claim to your songs, your name and, in general, creative activity, which according to documents partially belonged to Evgeniy. How was it ultimately decided? Was there a trial and what is the current state of this situation?” – Osadchaya asked the artist.
“Either I’m a good diplomat, or just God helps in these matters, and Evgeniy himself – we don’t have any omissions now. We communicate well. I try as best I can to help his first son, whose name is Evgeniy Ogir, as well as Zhenya, my husband. And this matter is just hushed up for now. But still, it needs to be resolved on paper, because I know that time passes, something shoots into the head and people change their minds. I hope that everything will be amicable with us,” answered Tina Karol.
She added that she is “ready to accompany little Evgeniy through life” and plans to put “some kind of compensation” in the bank.
After this conversation, Tina Karol never raised this topic again. The singer never commented on whether her son Veniamin communicates with Ogir and his half-brother Evgeniy.
Russian trace
In 2015, Osadchaya, during filming for the 1+1 channel, directly asked Tina Karol to comment on rumors about her collaboration with the Russian composer and producer Viktor Drobysh, who wrote her song “I Still Love” (2015).
“Your hit “I Still Love” was written by Viktor Drobysh. There was a lot of talk about this behind your back, you know about this, that supposedly you spend a lot of time in Russia, you are trying to build a career there and supposedly now Viktor Drobysh, a Russian composer and producer, will produce you in Russia,” Osadchaya asked the artist.
The singer did not deny or confirm anything. According to Tina Karol, she can only have one producer – her late husband, and she has a partnership with Drobysh.
“I’m glad that I inspire composers to write songs. It was his inspiration. He suggested, and I really liked the song. In fact, my producer is my Evgeniy, he will always be him, and, probably, such a word as a producer will never be near me again – well, so that it would be someone else. Viktor Yakovlevich Drobysh himself can be a partner, maybe a friend there and so on,” said the artist. “The situation is difficult, and I refused a lot of projects, and not I’m traveling, I’m not performing. The fact that they like the song, they play it – thank you very much, I’m very, very grateful.”
After the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the aggressor country of the Russian Federation, Tina Karol refused to perform her songs in Russian.
Robbed the bank to which she herself invited clients
In 2013, in Osadchaya’s commentary for the “1+1” channel Tina Karol admitted that she was a victim of robbery and told the details of this case.
“You and I talked that last year was very difficult for your family, including your family problems with the bank in which you deposited money, and the bank did not return the money to you. Has this problem been resolved, and at what stage is this problem now?” – asked the presenter.
“At the decision stage. We have opened a criminal case, and I hope that we can really attract maximum forces so that the police resolve this issue. At my discretion, the case is not being pursued. I don’t know who got away how much,” Tina Karol answered.
She added that this was about the bank she was advertising. The artist did not name the name of the bank, but the publication “Briefly about” in 2010 she wrote that Tina Karol advertises Alfa Bank.
“It’s funny, but this is a bank whose face I was purely out of friendship. While my husband was in Israel, he gave me the task of putting money in the bank: “Because you’re going on tour and there’s no one at home, it’s dangerous.” When at some wonderful moment we came from the bank’s safe deposit box to take our money, there was nothing in our safe deposit box,” the artist described the situation. “I already know that this happens to people – money, jewelry, documents really disappear. But It’s difficult to prove anything, because there is no inventory of what you put in. Moreover, I found out that the head of the branch has already served time in this bank, and now she is the head of the branch. Firstly, this is illegal, and secondly: “Yulia, I will reveal this secret, we will find that you did it.”
When asked for clarification how much money was stolen from her, Tina Karol replied that we were talking about the money she earned on tour “through her hard work,” but did not name the amount.
“It's a lot of money. Of course, it's a shock for us,” she replied.
The singer never said again whether she managed to get her money back.
Context
Tina Karol's husband, producer Evgeniy Ogir, died on April 28, 2013 at the age of 33 after battling cancer – stomach cancer. Tina Karol and Ogir have been married for five years. The singer herself is raising her only son, Veniamin (2008). He lives and studies in London.
In 2025, on the anniversary of her husband’s death, the singer admitted that she was ready to start a new relationship.
