An elderly resident of Yeniseisk lost her savings in search of love (video)

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a 69-year-old resident of Yeniseisk became the victim of a swindler from a dating site. He defrauded her out of money.

According to police, online communication between the man and woman began at the end of January. On The photo in the profile of the attacker was a pleasant Englishman of advanced age. He said that he worked as a chief engineer on a ship in the North Sea and told the sad story of his loneliness. The pensioner, also not in a relationship, believed the stranger.

“On the third day of communication, the man confessed his feelings and said that he wanted to come to Yeniseisk to live a happy life with his lady love. But in order to get to the port in Norway, he needs to settle this issue with the human resources department, where the woman even sent a letter, and organize a boat to the shore for 87 thousand rubles. She did not have the required amount, but the gentleman agreed to the available 43 thousand rubles, which she transferred to the account of an unknown recipient. However, as soon as the boat supposedly reached the shore, the foreign groom had a new problem: in order to activate the bank account, he again needed money, which the victim did not have.”

Realizing that she had become a victim of deception, the pensioner contacted the police. Based on this fact, a criminal case was opened under Part 2 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud committed with causing significant damage,” the investigation continues.
