In winter, the life of indoor plants slows down. Short daylight hours, dry air from radiators and cold from the window become a real test. Ficus trees often respond to this stress with massive leaf fall, turning their lush crown into bare branches. However, there is a simple pharmaceutical secret that helps the plant maintain foliage and even produce new growth during the darkest period of the year.
Magic pills for winter:
- 2 tablets of calcium gluconate;
- 1 liter of settled water at room temperature.
Directions for use:
The tablets must be completely dissolved in water. To do this, you can first crush them into powder or leave them in water for several hours, stirring occasionally.
The ficus is watered with the resulting solution strictly once every 30 days, completely replacing one regular watering. It is important not to increase the frequency.
Watering is carried out over damp soil: first, the soil is slightly moistened with clean water, and then a nutrient solution is added. This protects the root system from direct contact with the active substance.
The tablets provide the plant with building material to retain existing foliage and maintain life processes in dormancy.
