The publication notes that the American president’s circle remains restrained amid ongoing negotiations on the parameters of possible security guarantees for Ukraine after the end of the war.
Trump is expected to hold meetings with the leaders of the so-called “coalition of the willing,” who will try to enlist his support for the agreements previously worked out in Paris as part of the peace process on Ukraine. However, the format of Kyiv’s participation in these discussions remains unclear.
Experts note that the lack of direct contact between Trump and Zelensky could increase tension and uncertainty around the US role in Ukraine's future security architecture.

On January 10, The Telegraph reported that at the Davos forum, which will take place January 19–26, Washington and Kyiv plan to sign agreement on the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.
Zelensky, in an interview with Axios published on December 26, 2025, said that the United States offered Ukraine an agreement according to which they would provide security guarantees. On January 8, he reported that a bilateral document between Washington and Kiev on security guarantees for Ukraine already actually ready to a finale with Trump.
