The General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine announced the detention of a 10-person group who, on Russia's orders, prepared a series of assassinations of famous people in Ukraine, including the spokesman of the military intelligence service (HUR). Performers were offered up to 100,000 for one murder. USD.

The arrests were made in Ukraine and Moldova. “Seven people were detained in Ukraine. At the same time, investigative activities were carried out in the territory of Moldova, where another three people were detained, including the organizer of the network and his two accomplices,” the prosecutor's office said in a statement.
According to the investigation, members of the group acted on behalf of the Russian secret services. When preparing the attacks, they collected information about the lifestyle of famous people and the places where they stayed and lived.
The victims were supposed to be people known in Ukraine, including the representative for strategic communications of the Ukrainian Military Intelligence (HUR), the deputy head of the Coordination Staff for Prisoners of War Affairs, Andriy Yusov, the prosecutor's office revealed.
According to the police in a statement, the detained are Moldovan citizens. The attackers' targets were also said to have included: a well-known journalist, one of the heads of a state-owned strategic enterprise, active HUR military members, including soldiers of the HUR Foreign Legion, and an activist of a civic organization who fled from Russia and took a pro-Ukrainian position. Police did not release any names.
“The planned murders of these people – according to the organizers' intention – were to cause a social resonance, lead to negative publicity of the security situation (in Ukraine – PAP) and be used for sabotage activities against Ukraine,” the prosecutor's office said.
“Members of the organized group clearly divided their roles, planned various methods of murder, prepared murder weapons and developed escape plans. For each murder, the Russian side promised the perpetrators up to $100,000; the amount depended on the recognition and influence of the potential victim,” the statement noted.
