The European Commission is ready to delay Swam for Ukraine but the government has to send an official request, – Tagesspiegel.
The Ukrainian economy is in a critical state due to the war, and another problem is a problem on the horizon – the mechanism of carbon adjustment on the EU border (CBAM). If its action spreads to Ukraine, the losses for the economy will be very significant.
However, the European Commission is ready to delay Swam for Ukraine by 2027. But only if the government send an official request that is still not available. About it writes the German edition of Tagesspiegel.
According to the publication, Ukrainian metallurgy, fertilizer production, energy and chemical industry are most affected by SVAM, while the cement industry is generally threatened by the actual collapse.
