“The weather gives snow, and the city gives shovels,” he noted. “Everyone who feels strong, responsible and wants to help can join the fight against bad weather.”
The mayor invited residents of Ivano-Frankivsk to call and leave their contact information, after which employees of the housing and communal services department will contact them.
“Tomorrow you can get a shovel and become part of a big cleanup,” Martsinkiv emphasized.
At the same time, he added that “the shovel must be returned.”
On the air of the Zahidny Polyus radio, Martsinkiv said that in Ivano-Frankivsk, snow removal is generally ensured, but cleaning sidewalks, exits and adjacent areas remains a problem.
In particular, it is not always possible for special equipment to enter yards where cars are parked, which complicates the cleaning process.
Martsinkiv noted that “the main cleaners in the yards are women aged 60+, and sometimes 70+.”
“We have shovels, we have a supply in our department of housing and communal services. Leave a request – if you are ready, we will organize shovels. If you are ready to really do such a cleanup that five or six people will come out, then we will also give you a tractor,” the mayor promised.
