The prosecutor's office has submitted an indictment to the court regarding the beating of former Health Minister Adam Niedzielski, which took place last year in Siedlce – prosecutor Bartłomiej Świderski from the District Prosecutor's Office in Siedlce told PAP on Wednesday.

The two suspects face punishment from 3 months to 7.5 years in prison. These are the inhabitants of Siedlce – 39-year-old Aleksander B. and 35-year-old Rafał G.

The prosecutor's office accused them of beating Adam Niedzielski together and in concert, which exposed him to the risk of serious bodily harm. The accusation also includes making life threats against the former Minister of Health. Investigators assessed the men's actions as hooliganism.

According to the prosecutor's office, Niedzielski's beating was not accidental, the attack was allegedly caused by Niedzielski's political affiliation.

At the end of August 2025, the former head of the Ministry of Health was beaten by two men when he left a restaurant in Siedlce, where he had previously eaten a meal in the company of friends. The attackers escaped, but on the same day in the evening they reported to the police. Both were drunk, they had over two per mille of alcohol in their bodies.

Aleksander B. and Rafał G. pleaded guilty to the charges. However, one of them refused to provide explanations. The men claimed they did not remember what happened because they were under the influence of alcohol.

The court decided to temporarily arrest the men for two months. However, they were released after a month. The court accepted the complaints of their lawyers and changed the arrests to property bail in the amount of PLN 30,000. zloty. The men had no previous convictions. The case will be handled by the District Court in Siedlce. (PAP)
