“When crossing the border, Ukrainian border guards did not allow the items to be transported and confiscated almost everything, although all the documents were there. Therefore, this time there will be less help for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, especially for the Third Border Detachment,” he wrote.
On the morning of November 28, Chovnik published on Instagram, a new post in which he compared Ukrainian border guards who serve in eastern Ukraine, holding back Russian occupiers, and those who work on the border with Poland.
“Two borders. Two truths. Two worlds. On one border are our guys. Border guards who stand against the enemy. They stand in the cold, under fire, without days off and with no room for error. They hold back Russia. They guard every meter of our land. And they need cars. They need support. They need us,” he wrote. “Our border guards stand on the border with Poland. And they also “do their job.” So diligently that volunteers stand for hours at a time. queues.”
According to Chonik, checking the cars takes almost eight hours. He added that such situations are “a test of nerves, strength and patience.”
“Two stories of one people. Two different truths about the service. It’s a pity that such a reality exists,” he added.
The singer’s husband also recorded a video while already sitting on board the plane on the way to New York, where Fedyshyn will have a concert.
“Yesterday was a really difficult day. We spent almost the entire day crossing the border. Half of the time was spent crossing the Ukrainian border. Ukrainian border guards searched our two buses very carefully. I asked what they were looking for. They were looking for shell casings, souvenirs,” he said.
Chovnik clarified that the cartridges and bullets that they exported abroad were cut, mounted in wood and beautifully decorated.
“Of course, this is a souvenir. We decided to leave these souvenirs at the border. After that we crossed,” he added.
Chovnik emphasized that some of the souvenirs were from Crimea.
“The Ukrainians handed over these lots through checkpoints, through some means, through heroic means,” said producer Fedyshyn.
Border guards have not yet commented on the situation.
Context
Fedyshyn and her husband actively help the Ukrainian Armed Forces by purchasing cars for the front. The singer earns money to buy cars from her foreign concerts – she holds auctions.
In May 2024 Fedyshyn went on a charity concert tour to cities in the USA and Canada. Among the items she took with her were flags signed by the former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny.
After the tour, the singer donated 60 cars to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
