Poland's economic miracle. We are chasing the West
Prime Minister Donald Tusk, quoted by “The Times”, emphasized that everyone used to laugh at the aspiration to chase the West, and now we have caught up with Japan in terms of GDP per capita (adjusted for purchasing power parity) and it cannot be ruled out that in the next decade Polish households will have higher incomes than the British.
The daily noted that as Poland becomes richer, employee salaries and expectations are getting closer to Western European standards. The minimum wage has quadrupled in real terms since it was introduced in 1994.
