The arrest of the suspect was petitioned by prosecutors of the Podolsk district prosecutor's office of the city of Kyiv. It will last 30 days, until October 31, the release says.
On the eve of the detainee, they reported suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 135 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely, in the deliberate leaving without the help of a person who is in a life -threatening state. The driver’s actions are qualified as intentional application of serious bodily harm to the cyclist (part 1 of article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanctions of articles provide for punishment of imprisonment up to eight years, the press service of the office of the Prosecutor General’s office noted.
The incident occurred in Kyiv on Mezhigorskaya Street September 30. After a coming of parking in an unidentified place on a bicycle lamp, the defendant inflicted three blows into the face of a cyclist, as a result of which he lost consciousness. The suspect pulled the victim on the side of the road and left, and he left the scene of the conflict.

The 40-year-old injured cyclist was hospitalized with a closed head injury and a fracture of the temporal bone. The driver was subsequently detained.
