A cadet of the Siberian Fire and Rescue Academy of the State Fire Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, Timur Amerkhanov from the Krasnoyarsk Territory, reached the final of the IX season of the All-Russian Student Olympiad “I am a Professional,” the press service of the regional government reported.

The young man entered the Olympiad in two areas at once – “Development of unmanned aerial vehicles” and “Nuclear physics and technology.” Both of them are priorities for the technological development of the country.

Timur himself explains that since school he was interested in technical sciences, and in 2025 he became interested in unmanned systems and has already won the regional Olympiad in robotics. The young man was told about the “I am a Professional” Olympiad by his wife, who in seasons VII and VIII became a finalist in the field of “Materials Science and Materials Technology” and participated in the “Atomic School” forum. Young people study together and combine education with raising their daughter, who was born in 2025.

The choice of directions is not accidental: even at school, Timur was interested in technical sciences, and since 2025 he has been actively studying unmanned systems and has already won the regional Olympiad in robotics. Timur learned about the “I am a Professional” Olympiad from his wife Olga: in seasons VII and VIII, she became a finalist in the field of “Materials Science and Materials Technology” and participated in the “Atomic School” forum. Young people study together and combine education with raising their daughter, who was born in 2025.

“The “I am a Professional” Olympiad is forming a personnel reserve of a new type of specialist – those who are not limited to one specialty, but find points of growth at the intersection of disciplines. Timur Amerkhanov reached the finals in the areas of “Development of unmanned aerial vehicles” and “Nuclear Physics and Technologies” – it is hybrid competencies that allow future officers and rescuers to be ready for the challenges posed to them by the modern technological environment,” commented Valeria Kasamara, head of the All-Russian Student Olympiad “I am a Professional.”

Timur helps promote the Olympiad in the student community by introducing other cadets to the possibilities of the project. He is also a member of the Council of the First Movement of Zheleznogorsk, where he is responsible for the scientific direction and participates in the work of the “I’m Proud” association.

“For me, participation in the Olympiad is a unique opportunity to test my knowledge and skills in different areas. I dream of enrolling in a master’s program at a leading university and in the future becoming a leader in the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry system. The “I am a Professional” Olympiad of the presidential platform “Russia is a Country of Opportunities” opens up new horizons for admission and development, and in order to achieve success, I follow a clear regime and plan every day. This allows you to combine studies, participation in competitions and social work,” said Timur Amerkhanov.

In 2025, the cadet won the All-Russian “More Than a Travel” award in the “More Than a Traveler” category, receiving the highest marks from the jury and audience voting. At the “Your Move – 2025” forum, he was among the finalists, took third place in the “Intelligence of the Year” category and won the “Superlike” competition. In addition, Timur was awarded a ministerial scholarship from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for his academic and scientific achievements. At the regional level, he took 1st place in the “Your Time” award of the city of Krasnoyarsk for his contribution to youth policy and 2nd place in the youth award of the Krasnoyarsk Territory in the “Master of his craft” nomination.

Let us remind you that the All-Russian Student Olympiad “I am a Professional” is a project of the presidential platform “Russia is a Land of Opportunities” and is being implemented within the framework of the national project “Youth and Children” with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia. Over 8 seasons, more than 1.4 million students took part in it. More than 28,000 diploma recipients received the right to preferential admission to the country's leading universities, more than 4,000 people were among the medalists and received cash bonuses, the total amount of which amounted to more than 700 million rubles.
