Context

In October 1938, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nazi Germany Joachim von Ribbentrop proposed to Poland to extend the non -aggression pact in exchange for permission to attach Danzig to Germany and the construction of the highway and the railway through the Polish lands. Poland unofficially rejected this proposal at the meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Bek with Hitler and Ribbentrop on January 4, 1939, and the final refusal was officially informed by Germany on March 25.
