The International Atomic Energy Agency (Maea) announced that on Tuesday, for the 10th time, all lines that supplied electricity to the Zaporian nuclear power plant in Ukraine were broken. The plant is in the areas occupied by Russia. Power supply is necessary, among others for cooling reactor fuel.

The power plant “has lost all external power supply for the tenth time during the conflict today,” Maea said on the X platform. In a press release on this subject, the agency emphasized that the power supply continuity also prevents the reactor core melting.
According to the message, the Agency team examines the reasons for the breaking of external supply lines. It was also ensured that the Zaporoska power plant, in which several Maea employees are in, is equipped with substitute power generators.
At the beginning of the month, the agency alerted that The situation at the plant remains unstable. – ongoing warfare, including attacks in the immediate vicinity of the power plant, cause deep concern and multiply tension and risk – the agency director, Rafael Grossi, said.
He emphasized that The water level in the cooling system pool fell to 13.4 m, which meant that it dangerously approached the limit value of 12 meters. The system can stop working below this level. Grossi warned that only one outer power line remained in use. Maea also informed again that all six reactors of the Zaporoska nuclear power plant remained so -called cold detention and now none of them can be safely launched.
Control over the Zaporozha Atomic Power Plant remains the subject of a dispute between Russia and Ukraine. The gym is located in Ukrainian areas occupied by Russia; Kyiv does not allow Moscow to take control of her.
Ukraine: Another Blackout in the Zaporian nuclear power plant occupied by Russia
The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine announced on Tuesday that the Russian occupation troops disconnected the only transmission line through which the Zaporian nuclear power plant received power from the Ukrainian energy system.
“The Zaporian Nuclear Power Plant has gone through its own needs from generators. This is a significant violation of the conditions for normal operation of the power plant. (…) Today's incident once again shows that the Russian occupation is the main threat to the safe operation of the Zaporian Zaporian nuclear power plant,” said the ministry.
The announcement emphasized that this situation has occurred for the tenth time since the gym was occupied by the Russian troops. The ministry reminded that during the occupation in the power plant there were repeatedly cutting off the power supply due to Russian fire and damage to energy infrastructure.
“A few days ago, the 69th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (Maea) adopted a resolution calling for immediate deocturation of the Zaporian nuclear power plant and restoring the full inspection of Ukraine over it. The document, supported by 62 Member States, contains a direct call to immediately withdraw all unauthorized military personnel and other.”
“The Ministry of Energy appeals to the international community for decisive actions – the pressure on Russia should be increased in order to demilitarize and deoct the power plant as soon as possible,” it was emphasized.
