As PONAR Wadowice informs in a press release, the aim of the newly established company is to produce 155 mm caliber artillery systems in the NATO standard, including the “Bohdana” self-propelled howitzer and the “Bohdana-BG” towed howitzer. The project will be implemented based on European production capacity and close industrial cooperation between Poland and Ukraine.

As we read, PONAR Wadowice SA has a majority stake in PK MIL SA of 51%. shares, which provides the company with “stable capital, technological and organizational resources and enables the effective use of the competences of the PONAR Wadowice Group in the implementation of projects for the defense sector.”

“The establishment of PK MIL SA is a response to the growing demand for proven, reliable and scalable artillery systems. The new company will enable increased production capacity, shortened supply chains and more effective coordination of activities in the defense sector,” it was emphasized.

The Bohdan self-propelled howitzer's ballistic properties meet modern NATO standards. It made its combat debut after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, although work on prototypes began much earlier.

In October last year, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the country had achieved the production capacity needed on the Bohdana front at the level of 40 units per month. (PAP)
