There is a ceasefire and the wholesale price at Orlen is rising

According to Orlen, there are currently six. 95 petrol costs PLN 5,505 — and this is an increase of over PLN 50 compared to the previous price on April 3. The price of EU98 petrol has also gone up, while diesel oil has become slightly cheaper in wholesale – currently cubic meters. costs PLN 6,950before Christmas it was PLN 6,988.
Are the prices surprising? Not necessarily – the ceasefire has not yet had time to translate into prices in Polish wholesale. However, if we actually have relative peace in the Middle East, drivers will definitely feel it.
— The declines we see in the markets will be reflected in prices at gas stations, but it will take a few days – says Andrzej Domański, Minister of Finance and Economy, on Polsat News.
As the minister added, “first the price of oil falls, then the wholesale price, and then prices at gas stations”. As seen in Orlen's data, wholesale prices have not yet had time to react to the global drops in oil prices.

Fuel prices will drop, but… are they for sure?
Fuel prices in Poland are currently relatively low due to government intervention. On the one hand, we have tax cuts as part of the “CPN package”, on the other – maximum prices set daily.
Market fuel prices should fall, but government reductions will not last forever. It may therefore turn out that drivers will pay rates similar to the current ones in the foreseeable future.
— We will talk about the situations within the government. We know that the regulations reducing VAT and excise duty are of a temporary nature and we will analyze the situation whether the dates of the regulations should be extended, said Minister Andrzej Domański in Polsat News.
Let us remind you that for now the reduced excise tax is valid until mid-April, and the lower VAT rate – until the end of the month.
