Following a 5-2 defeat to Dinamo in the second round of the Romanian Cup, Florin Gardoș, the general manager of Chindia Târgoviște, praised the “dogs” for their performance on the field and humorously noted the hospitality extended to the visiting officials.
On Wednesday evening, Chindia, currently ranked third in Liga 2, suffered a significant defeat against Superligii leaders Dinamo, which eliminated them from the Romanian Cup with one group stage match remaining.
After the game, Gardoș expressed his joy at returning to the National Arena, where he had memorable matches with FCSB. He congratulated Dinamo for both their gameplay and the hospitality shown to the guests, referencing a previous incident involving Sepsi and Dinamo where Andrei Nicolescu complained about the hospitality in Covasna. He shared a photo showcasing a spread of baked potatoes, steak, rice, and salad, among other dishes.

“Although the result wasn’t favorable, it was a pleasure to return to the stadium where I have so many memories. This match marked Chindia’s second defeat in as many games in Group D of the Romanian Cup. After also losing to FC Voluntari in the first round, the Dâmbovița team has no chance of finishing in one of the top two positions regardless of the outcome in their final match, which will be against third-division side Sporting Liești.
Chindia’s goal remains a return to the Superligă, which is currently on track, as the team coached by Leo Grozavu sits in third place in Liga 2 with 24 points from the first 11 rounds. Only CSM Slatina (25 points) and Poli Timișoara (27 points) are ahead.
