Napoli easily defeated the “red lantern” and qualified for the Champions League

Last year's Italian champions Napoli booked their place in next season's Champions League with an easy 3-0 away win against relegated Pisa.

Following today's result, Napoli becomes the 23rd team already qualified for the next edition of the Champions League.

Napoli, victory over Pisa, the “red lantern”

Antonio Conte's men secured their success with two quick goals in the first half. In the 21st minute, star Scott McTominay scored with a low shot from the edge of the box after a decisive pass from Rasmus Hojlund. Seven minutes later, Amir Rrahmani scored with a header, following a corner kick by Eljif Elmas.

The second half was also dominated by the Neapolitans, who scored the third goal only in extra time, through Hojlund. The Dane set up the final score, 3-0, with a volley after a sharp pass from substitute Pasquale Mazzocchi.

Thus, Napoli accumulated 73 points and kept its second place in the rankingbeing able to be surpassed in the last stage only by AC Milan, occupying the 3rd place, due to the advantage in direct matches with AS Roma, the team in the 4th place. The relegated team Pisa remained in the last place, with only 18 points, after the eighth consecutive defeat.

In the last stage of this year, Napoli receives the visit of Udinese. The match is scheduled for May 24, from 16:00.
