Concerns Raised Over President Nawrocki’s Sister’s Business Ventures

Maciej Tomczykiewicz, deputy head of the parliamentary justice committee, has raised concerns regarding the financial implications of President Karol Nawrocki’s public recognition, asserting that the state shoulders the expenses while his family may profit from the commercial use of his name.
This issue was discussed on the TVN24 program “News Michalskiego,” where it was revealed that Nina Nawrocka, the president’s sister, owns a trademark used for selling merchandise related to his name and image. Reports indicate that during a boxing gala in Koszalin, President Nawrocki may have endorsed a company involved in selling these items.
Tomczykiewicz expressed concerns about whether the president is using his prominent position to support his family’s business interests.
Allegations of Exploiting the Presidential Brand
Tomczykiewicz suggested that the actions surrounding the trademark indicated a potential profit from the brand that President Nawrocki has built while in office. He asserted that the state covers the costs of enhancing the president’s public profile, while subsequent commercial use of his name could yield income for his family. “This is simply a way to enrich oneself at the expense of the state,” the politician declared during the TVN24 program.
The deputy head of the justice committee compared this situation to Donald Trump’s business practices, suggesting that Nawrocki may be following a similar path, albeit benefiting his sister in this instance. However, he provided no evidence that profits from the merchandise sales are funneled into the president’s political activities.
Questions About the President’s Family Business
The program also raised questions about whether the activities linked to President Nawrocki’s name could contribute to building his family’s wealth. Tomczykiewicz noted he does not believe the president’s family is accumulating funds for political purposes through these business ventures.
Additionally, the discussion touched on the matter of horses belonging to President Nawrocki that are kept at his official residence in Promnik. Tomczykiewicz emphasized that while the president is entitled to pursue his interests and hobbies, he should do so at his own expense.
