Victor Angelescu, president of Rapid, expressed his satisfaction regarding the club’s schedule for the upcoming Superliga season. Following the announcement of the fixtures, Angelescu shared insights on player transfers, stating that negotiations are ongoing with two potential new signings, which he hopes to finalize before the start of the team’s training camp on June 29.
Angelescu commented on the club’s match schedule, indicating that they were eager to start their season with a home match against newly-promoted Sepsi. He acknowledged the challenges ahead, particularly highlighting their second match at Botoșani and a subsequent game against CFR Cluj, the former club of new coach Daniel Pancu.
He noted the team’s aspiration to compete in European tournaments, expressing a desire for Rapid to achieve that goal by the end of the season. As for the transfer strategy, Angelescu mentioned plans to acquire at least two new players in the first week of training, as well as potentially seeking an additional three to four signings. He acknowledged that changes within the squad are likely, with some players possibly departing as offers come in.
“We are optimistic with Daniel Pancu at the helm. I hope by the end of the season we can celebrate our successes. Pancu has integrated well into the team and is proving to be a valuable leader,” Angelescu stated.
