Biedronka has stated that it is simply a tenant in the building located on Sportowa Street in Darłowo, asserting it is neither the owner nor the builder of the site. The store was established within a row house.
According to Architektura Murator Plus, the construction was carried out by Miloo Park, based on a permit for a single-family home encompassing over 2,000 square meters. However, the building features only one window at the rear, with the ground floor fully occupied by Biedronka. Local residents have protested, claiming violations of building regulations.
Biedronka Responds to Controversy
In a statement to Bizblog Spider’s Web, Paweł Dziub, Biedronka’s regional operations director for Koszalin, emphasized that the chain is merely a tenant and not the owner or investor of the property.
— Issues related to the investment process, including compliance with planning documentation and administrative decisions, are the responsibility of the property owner and relevant authorities — he conveyed, adding that Biedronka aims to operate as a “good neighbor.”
Investor Claims Compliance with Legal Standards
In a conversation with Murator, the investor asserted that the project is being executed in accordance with current laws. Nonetheless, the Local Spatial Development Plan (MPZP) stipulates that single-family housing with services can be built in this area.
The investor applied for an Integrated Investment Plan in May when the building was nearly completed. This serves as a temporary adjustment to the MPZP initiated by the entrepreneur, allowing for the construction of a project that was previously not permitted but could include additional features like a school or sidewalk. Murator notes that the ZPI is not meant for already constructed buildings; however, the City Council unanimously supported the initiation of work on the ZPI.
