— We will send a written request to the Swedish government and suggest that an investigation be considered – said Władysław Vlasiuk, adviser to the President of Ukraine on sanctions policy.
A media investigation revealed a network of connections
The case was publicized by the Swedish public broadcaster SVT, which conducted an investigation together with the Polish investigative journalism collective Frontstory and independent Belarusian journalists from Biuro Media.
According to reporters' findings, despite the applicable European Union sanctions, the Belarusian company Jenty was to offer its transport services through the Warsaw company DSPL. Additionally, semi-trailers belonging to the Kazakh company Technobel were used in the activity. Customers using the services of these entities include, among others: AstraZeneca.
Journalists point to numerous connections between Jenty, DSPL and Technobel. The investigative materials contain information about common owners, organizational similarities and reports of employees who claim that the Polish company is part of a Belarusian company. Attention was also drawn to websites containing modified photos copied from the Jenty website.

According to the authors of the investigation, the collected evidence may indicate the creation of a mechanism to circumvent EU sanctions.
AstraZeneca withdraws from cooperation
After the material was published, AstraZeneca took a position. The company's spokeswoman, Kajsa Ekelund, told Swedish media that the company did not violate applicable regulations, but decided to terminate cooperation with carriers related to the case.
The process of ending cooperation is to be gradual.
The company's decision is a response to emerging doubts regarding the actual connections between companies participating in the logistics chain.
Concerns about circumvention of sanctions
In an interview with SVT, Władysław Własiuk pointed out that although the export of medicines to Russia and Belarus remains allowed, there is a risk of using the same transport channels to transport goods of much greater strategic importance.
As he emphasized, logistics networks supporting legal trade can also be used to deliver civilian microelectronics to Russia, which is then used, among others, in: in the production of drones used in warfare.
The request announced by Ukraine to the Swedish authorities may lead to a detailed examination of the activities of the companies indicated in the investigation and an assessment of whether there has been a violation or circumvention of EU restrictions imposed on entities from Belarus and Russia.
