The form of a written document by which Moscow would confirm the absence of intentions to attack NATO member countries can be the subject of negotiations, announced the spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, according to the TASS state news agency.
“Russia is ready to formalize the corresponding commitments in the form of a written document with binding legal force. Its specific form can be established during the negotiations, but it must be a full-fledged international law,” said the representative of Russian diplomacy, in a briefing, answering a question on this topic.
“Russia remains open to serious discussions, a serious dialogue on this pragmatic and fair basis, unlike most Western countries that have opted for a military-political and economic escalation, which turns and has turned into pressure,” claimed Zaharova, quoted by News.ro.
“It is precisely these states that are fully responsible for the escalation of the situation and for the lost opportunities, moreover, including in the field of ensuring European and, in general, global security”, the spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry also affirmed.
